Location & Directions - Clock House Farm caravan & camping park

Suffolk Campsite near Sudbury, Suffolk, UK

...a Suffolk campsite we love. Long Melford was our favourite haunt; lovely little independent shops and superb tea rooms but there are many places in the area to visit so pick up the leaflets available on site and start checking it out for yourselves. ...

Very important - do not follow the Google "directions" tool or your Sat Nav directions. They both take you the long way around to avoid Long Melford village but the roads are no good for caravans and it takes longer. Read more >

"Long Melford well worth a visit. Lovely walk across the fields to Cavendish (takes nearly an hour) 2 pubs to reward you on arrival!"

"The location is brilliant for camping in Suffolk, everything you need within easy walking distance. If you don't fancy cooking there is a great chip shop and Chinese takeaway nearby, or you get always eat out at one of the four pubs in the village."

"The surrounding area is lovely especially Long Melford, Sudbury, Lavenham and Bury St Edmunds. There are also lots of pretty villages nearby"

"Three Pubs are within easy walking distance, one is only a Five minute walk and the food is fine and well priced, the other Two a little farther (15 Mins walk) but well worth a look. A General Store is a five minute walk and stocks most of those things you'd normally run out of and more. Sudbury is only a ten minute drive and there are plenty of other historic villages nearby. Perfect camping in Suffolk"

"An ideal location of a Caravan in Suffolk. Visit many historic towns like Long Melford, Lavenham and Sudbury"

Directions to Clock House Farm caravan and camping site

It's very important to note that if you are coming from an area that brings you via Bury St Edmunds or via Sudbury on the A134 that your Sat Nav will take you on a route that avoids Long Melford but that's not what you want to do, it's a much longer route and no good for caravans. You should in fact enter the village of Long Melford. At the Long Melford Green hosting the beautiful church and the historic Melford Hall you will see a sign post for Clare/Glemsford - take that road (which crosses The green) and passes the Black Lion Hotel.

From there:

 > Keep going along this road (A1092)

 > Just before the large Phillips Avent factory turn right up Hobbs Lane

> Continue up Hobbs Lane until it forks - then take Park Lane

> Continue on Park Lane until you reach a left hand turning on to Bells Lane (B1065)

> Continue on Bell's Lane which joins Lion Road

> Continue on Lion Road - you will pass the Black Lion public house

> Immediately after the Black Lion public house bare right on to Cavendish Lane

> Continue for just a minute and you will reach Clock House Farm on your left hand side

Note - If you are coming from Bury St Edmunds on the A134 your Sat Nav will try and turn you off for Hartest, if you are coming from Sudbury on the A134 it will try and turn you off for Rodbridge, don't do either! If you are in any doubt you should set your Sat Nav to find Long Melford village green (CO10 9DN) and then use our directions from there.

Coming from the other direction via Clare? If you coming from the other direction via Clare your Sat Nav does bring you the right way so follow that.
